Skylite Moon
Poets and Composers write about it: "Blue Moon" ~ "Shine on Shine on Harvest Moon" ~ "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" ~ all dressing up the moon in all it's mystic, romantic, array. Still we have discovered yet another to add to the mysticism of this celestial romance. ~ ~ "Skylite Moon."
Joy is lying in bed and watching the moon make it's way across the sky through the Skylite in our bedroom. The night is crystal clear but the air is laden with moisture condensation on the glass causing prism reflections from the rays of the moon light finding their way to our window pane. As the droplets become heavy, they begin to make their way down the glass setting the moon rays into a dance of changing colors and patterns. A beautiful and thrilling experience indeed. Might be that we too should compose a song or write some prose to enhance the discovery. Something like: "The Moon belongs to everyone, the Best Things in Life are Free." But then, Ho-Hum, this seems to have been taken.
Cal set the digital camera to take a picture every 10 minutes. The results being 5 moon pictures as it traveled across the 48 inches of the Skylite. window. One of the five was hidden behind the center divider of the window. The last picture is an enlarged version to show the droplets on the window glass that cause the different color effects on the pane.
You won't receive the full live value and the thrill of the experience as we did, but at the least, you can enjoy part of the fun with us through this collage.
